The best thing about MEg TV? Our humans (or as we like to call them, our Mishpookah).
Nancy Saslow and Carolyn Carmines run the place. They met at an Internet startup, (who didn't?) and launched a digital company called Pushybroad
(We put the "broad" in "broadband"). From there, they created MEg TV.
Get to know us … better.
Nancy Saslow, President and Executive Producer
Carolyn Carmines, President, Creative Director
Nancy Saslow, President, Executive Producer
Nancy Saslow is a multiple Peabody and Emmy award-winning producer, director and writer. Starting her career in news and documentary programming, Nancy expanded her scope to projects across multiple entertainment genres in her own production company. Among her clients: NBC, Westinghouse Broadcasting, Paramount, TBS, General Motors, NASA Space Center Houston, Bill Graham Presents, The San Francisco Opera, and the Rolling Stones. Nancy has been the video headmistress on all MEg productions, and is the lead wrangler on the development team. She holds an astounding bit of meaningless trivia, loves dogs (especially hers), and has frightening range when it comes to old TV theme songs, commercial jingles, and show tunes.
Carolyn Carmines, Creative Director
Carolyn Carmines' career has spanned a variety of entertainment disciplines, from music, to theater, television to interactive. She built an award winning interactive design and production group from the ground up. As one of the most recognized shops in the Southwest, Eagle River Interactive was later acquired by Agency.com. Clients included MCA, Sony and Disney, as well as working with artists such as Trisha Yearwood and Mary Chapin Carpenter, and projects like the Sony Listening Store in New York City. Carolyn uses both sides of her brain at MEg, riding herd on look and feel, as well as in-house systems during the course of all of our productions. She is a daughter of the south, which you'll know and appreciate from the first "y'all."
Steve Eagleton, Senior Editor
Steve's background is as varied as he is well traveled. It includes a wide range of global projects – from three Olympics (he's an Emmy winner) and extreme sports coverage to syndicated lifestyle shows; from playback pieces for the Rolling Stones and Tina Turner to interactive and high-end corporate gigs. He's been in the edit room with the Menendez Brothers, The Boston Strangler, and the Woolly Mammoth; artists and athletes and everything in between. And yet, remarkably, he remains seemingly undisturbed and relatively calm. Must be the meat-free diet, funk music, and Kung Fu!
Jim Bunn, Producer
Jim is our all around utility player. He can, quite literally, play every position; whether it's wrangling and pre-heating a difficult interview, or guiding editors in post (his infamous day-starting debriefs are called "The Morning Bunn"). Jim is a veteran broadcast Journalist (yes, that's a capital J) who has told stories from locations around the world, covering two wars for NBC news. He's got the "usual" statues (Peabody and multiple Emmys) and at one point worked for The World Health Organization, based in Geneva, where he co-founded World AIDS Day. Really.
John C. Fitzgerald, Consulting Producer
Fitz is a seasoned show runner and former TV executive (though he's in recovery for that). He's the guy who stands back a little, but checks in at your shoots, reviews all your transcripts, shows up for lunch, gives you his house as a location, drives all over hell and back to pick up a prop, and oh yeah, tosses out the coolest and freshest ideas as your project advances. He's produced over 200 hours of primetime programming and consults on various productions around the world, all while being a devoted husband and father to his wife and two daughters. He lives in Los Angeles with three dogs, two cats, and the aforementioned coven.
Eamon Harrington, Co-EP, Co-Director
Eamon Harrington is a veteran television producer and director. He co-owns Planet Grande Pictures in Malibu CA, where he and his team have won 7 Emmys over the years for their docs and specials. Eamon brings amazing creativity and fantastic partnership to do what we do. His penchant for storytelling has recently spilled over into another discipline – painting. His work hangs in hundreds of homes throughout the United States, including the state capitol in Sacramento CA. Eamon is Dad to four gregarious kids, making him a fount of great time-killing driving games on those long location trips!
Bill Corona, Director of Photography
Bill and Nancy have been working together since dirt. They have the photos to prove it (blackmail-worthy stills of bad hair and questionable style). No matter. Bill has that instinct in documentary filmmaking you always look for in a camera person, plus amazing skill as a DP. From interviews to drone aerials, go-go hand held to beautifully shot exteriors, Bill compliments and elevates our storytelling with his exceptional visual sense. Just this year he's filmed Menendez, Jacques Pepin for American Experience, and a documentary on California water and Hetch Hetchy for PBS. He got a Peabody, a couple of Emmys, and equally as treasured, a signed photo of Buddy Hackett.
Monica Caston, Producer
She's toured with Mick and Keith, Bono, Prince, and Michael, to name a few. But Monica is as humble as they come (Ohio native), so those are names she would never drop (although we will!). Monica Caston's career in music, film and television features more than 30 years of experience in the global entertainment industry. Her extensive work ranges from high profile world tours to concert and TV specials, live multi-format event production, and docu-series and documentaries. She's been a "go-to" producer and production "wrangler" for years. If you suddenly discover the need for a ferret in the field, she'll have two of them, with trainers and a trailer nailed down in 15 minutes. So…that happened.
